Time wasted rationalizing the mediocre could be time spent creating the magnificent.

Being able to bounce back from any hardship is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. Your 20’s are a pivotal point in your life where it will take you for a whirlwind. Somehow, every small set back feels like the world is closing in on you. When I started my blog, I said I’d post once a month, and I missed two months of doing so… let me kind of explain why.

Sometimes I get into a dark, confused, unmotivated space where I just want to be selfish. I drown myself in everything except for my passion. Sounds weird right? I know. Chasing a crazy dream requires accountability, discipline, and consistency, which are all traits I lacked during my time away. My heart was a little heavy because I knew what I needed to be doing, instead, I cheers to every weekend, and took “mental health” days 7 days a week. I’m not in the business of celebrating failure, or being stagnant so I had to get up off my ass and force myself to work!

My advice is, despite whatever you’re going through be consistent. Rest is important, but consistency is what makes you excellent. Don’t rob yourself of precious time when you could spend it focusing on goals. For the past two months I allowed one negative thought to snowball into several, pushed back important dates, and began singing the same sorry song of “I’ll do it tomorrow.”

I think what I’m trying to say is, stop letting things shake you so easily, and stand firm. Be so confident and hungry for your best self that nothing can stand between you and it. Don’t get me wrong, pulling yourself out of a negative space takes strength, but, we must always find our way back, and work relentlessly at becoming our highest selves. Think about it like this, the time we take to dissect the chaos in our lives, can be channeled into creating/completing/fulfilling something that may move the world. Always bet on yourself!

Still keeping it cozy and cute in my nike rip away pant. The pant is currently sold out! When they dropped I knew I had to snag them.

My sneakers are the air max tailwind IV which are super comfy and fashionable.

Socks: Nike Women’s lace-up socks

My earrings spell out ‘BOU-JEE.’ I got them from ASOS but they are currently sold out. You can still acheive this look with any long gold statement earring!

Lastly, my clear fanny pack is also from ASOS.

Style tip: Challenge yourself by incorporating bold colors into your outfit. If it’s a “cozy” fit, wear statement jewlery that can dress it up. You’ll be surprised what you come up with.
